support for integration of unsupported solar inverter as virtual meter.

To use a SolarEdge Inverter as virtual meter is not yet supported, I'm willing to assist with the integration. The application form for this is asking for a URL and a screenshot, not clear is what URL and a screenshot of what?

Hi,

There are two ways to integrate an inverter into IAMMETER’s Virtual Meter.

1. Push API mode

In this mode, the user reads data from the inverter (via RS485, Modbus/TCP, or the inverter’s supported APIs) and uploads the corresponding data to the IAMMETER Virtual Meter using IAMMETER’s APIs.

This approach requires development work on the user side, which is why the 4,000 reward points are allocated to this integration method.

2. Cloud bridge mode

In this mode, IAMMETER reads the inverter data directly from the inverter’s cloud platform.

IAMMETER requests data from the inverter’s official portal system via its cloud APIs (if supported) and bridges the data into the Virtual Meter.
If we plan to support an inverter using this method, we usually need a user account for the inverter’s official portal for testing purposes.

If you are able to provide such an account (you may temporarily change the password to a simple one), please contact us by email.

Typically, the integration takes 1–2 weeks.

If everything works correctly, IAMMETER will add SolarEdge inverter support afterward. As one of the first SolarEdge users, you will receive one SN with a long-term Virtual Meter subscription (5 years).

Hi Jack,
I just sent you several emails that included the 'SolarEdge API terms and Conditions' and another related document. All these emails are however rejected:

How to go forward?
RGDS,
Frans.

OK, we will check and reply to you by email later.

Hi, thanks for your message.

To confirm what you want to import into Virtual Meter, could you please tell us which data you need:

  1. Inverter

  2. Grid

  3. Battery
    (or multiple of them)

Also, could you please confirm whether you can see these values in your SolarEdge portal (UI)?

  • Voltage (V)

  • Current (A)

  • Power (W)

And most importantly, the accumulated energy (kWh) values:

  • Inverter → total PV generation (kWh)

  • Grid → total import (buy energy, kWh) and total export (feed-in energy, kWh)

  • Battery → total charge energy (kWh) and total discharge energy (kWh)

If these values are available in the UI, we can support them in Virtual Meter.

Hi, Virtual meter  support solar edge now. Please have a try.
