Some WEM3080(202305 - 202403) require an upgrade to resolve a software bug.

  • Affected product: WEM3080 (Only the single-phase meter WEM3080 is affected, other products are not affected)

  • Production range: May 2023 - February 2024

  • SN (Serial Number) Query: You can check here to see if your meter is among the problematic devices (need to log in the IAMMETER-cloud first)

  • Problem Description: Due to a bug in the metering firmware of our metering module, WEM3080 produced during this period exhibit a bug where kWh measurements become inaccurate once they exceed 1000 kWh.

  • Solution: Upgrade to the Wi-Fi firmware  , which will then internally upgrade the metering firmware to the latest version. This will resolve the issue.

IAMMETER has been in production since 2018, and this is the first time such a problem has occurred. Although we have exerted every effort to ensure product quality, we regret that we were unable to avoid this issue.

We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused to all affected customers.

As compensation, we are willing to provide a certain amount of coupons to all affected customers.

Thank you all for your continued support. The development of IAMMETER could not have been achieved without the enthusiastic help and support of our customers. Thank you.

1. Locate the ip address of the meter, you can use any network discovery app such as fing etc.

2 Type the ip address in a browser while ensuring you're connected to the same network as the meter is.

3. If you only see the "basic" and "monitor" tabs in the meter page, then type "system.html" after the ip address. 192.168.5.5/system.html (example).

4. You can now see another tab which has the option to upgrade the firmware.

5. If you cant locate the ip address of the meter, simply switch off the router or AP the meter is connected to and then search for wifi networks and you will see a wifi network resembling iammeter, connect to it, use admin/admin as user pass and do as described in #4. (Disconnecting the meter from the router enables it to broadcast its own name in AP mode.

I use 3 phase meters, hopefully the process will be the same.

Hi,

My meter is marked as affected device.

what is te procedure to update the firmware? Thx

Please download the FW  in the red rectangle

What is the upgrade procedure once the .bin file has been downloaded ?

Please download the FW  in the red rectangle

*If you choose to switch off the router to enable the meter to broadcast its own wifi AP to which you can comnect, ensure you are close to the meter as its broadcast range is limited unlike home routers.

Thanks Usman, i hope it worked ๐Ÿ˜€
