Hi, I recently bought a meter for a single phase and am waiting for it to arrive. But I have a small doubt, my electrical panel is relatively small, and other than the double space the meter takes up I don't have room to put any other breaker. Do I really need to put a breaker before the meter? If it is really necessary, can I connect it to another breaker that already has another circuit connected?

In the attached picture, I put the picture of the meter on top of a breaker that is not connected to anything so it will come out to have both spaces free for the meter.

Finally one last question, the CT1 clip can you tell me in the picture where to take the reading?

Thanks.

Hi:

The broker in the wiring diagram is not necessary, just optional.

You should clamp the CT on the Living wire of the loop you want to monitor.
Sorry,I can not judge which is that wire in this picture.

Thanks for the fast reply.

I want to monitor the whole house, could it be the top brown wire of the big breaker further to the left of the bottom row?

It seems like that from the picture.
But it is better to ask the on-site electrician to confirm.

I got it all working now. It’s a single fase installation but there are the Lines plus Neutral coming to my board, I measure all three L inside the clamp and I’m getting all the correct values.

Thanks.
