Cloud based Daily totals are wrong

I recently reworked my meters and now send data to Home Assistant via modbus and also to the iammeter cloud.

Where the yield energy below  shows 19.24 kW, The corect figure (from Home assistant daily accumulator and my Sunnyboy inverter are significantly more at 25.8 kW.

This seems to only have happened since I started uploading via the cloud.

Any Ideas?

Hi:

It is easy to confirm which is correct.

Just subtract the first kWh of this day from the last kWh of this day.

The solar yield energy is calculated from the phase that selected as the meter type of "inverter"

Maybe I know the reason now.
Do you mean this only happen in the first day that you added this energy meter into the IAMMETER-cloud?
If so , it is normal.
Becuase the daily solar yield kWh is calculated by such formula:
meter type : inverter
The last updated kWh of the day - the first updated kWh of the day.
For example:
if you added the meter in the IAMMETER in the noon at the first day,it will miss the kwh calculation of the daily yield that start from morning to the noon.
This is normal ,and only happen in the first day when you added the Wi-Fi energy meter into the IAMEMTER-cloud.

I'll keep an eye on it. I have noticed it over a few days but have been tweaking Home assistant the last 2 days. Today should have been good It seemed to catch up by the end of the day but at one stage it was 10 kW behind.

But now at the end of the day:

Inverter =  35.78 kW

Home Assistant Daily Total 35.66kw

Iammeter 35.69 kW (after getting different values when hitting refresh several times)

So that is perfectly fine..

HEre are the endof day meter values (C is solar)

Yes, both IAMMETER and Home assistant use the IAMMETER`s product to calculate the kWh difference.
I think the home assistant uses the same logic with IAMMETER to calculate the periodic (daily or monthly) kWh difference.(subtract the first one from the last one).
Their difference would be very small, just in find out which is the last or first.

The inverter uses another metering module (inside the inverter) to measure the solar yield energy.

I also think this difference is within the acceptable range.

So it seems to have settled down now but there is a  lag before the cloud is updated. Here is the meter tonight.

It reports 16 kW generated vs the inverter at 15.95 so well within the acceptible range.

The cloud system reports 15.93 kW on a cloudy day 😕

So aside from some lag during the day, it is fine at the end of the day...

Sorry for wasting your time....

Hi:

Yes, The data in the below diagram on the overview page is not updated immediately(it updates every hour).

if you want to compare the kWh reading with the inverter, please try this report directly.
