how to support multiple power tariffs when you monitor your energy consumption in IAMMETER

This is a requirement that feedback by one customer from AU.

In Australia (residential/domestic) we have a general tariff, available 24h a day. This is measured on a normal reversible meter which tracks consumption and solar return. I pay AU$0.20493/kWh for this power. I also have a second meter, which provides cheaper power "controlled tariff" at AU$0.17259/kWh which is only available for about 18 hours a day; they turn it off during peak periods. This is typically used for hot water systems, pool pumps, etc. So in my setup I have a 3080 single CT measuring the general tariff consumption, and a 3080T CT-A measuring the controlled tariff consumption. They also charge a fixed price per day (AU$1.18943). And I get AU$0.52/kWh solar feed-in.

There are two power tariffs there, and IAMMETER only supports one power tariff in one "place". So he recommends IAMMETER can support multiple power tariffs in one place.

In IAMMETER, it is difficult to support multiple power tariffs in one place because it conflicts with many existing logic.

Fortunately, IAMMETER has another powerful function called "virtual site" that can be used to solve this problem.

Monitor more than one site with a different power tariff

You can create two places, one with the "controlled power tariff" while another place with the "general power tariff".

Select the two places here. The virtual site will only analyze the "place" that has been selected here.

The data in this pic below is based on our demo account. From the pic, the "three phase system" is unselected, so its data will not appear in the chart and report of the virtual site.

log in the demo account of IAMEMTER:https://www.iammeter.com/home/autologin/

Please note, the "virtual site" function is only available when you log in IAMMETER system by the web browser (it has not been supported in app yet)

Then you can view the billing report in "virtual site", this report will be the billing sum of the two places. Each place will calculate the billing according to its own power tariff, then sum them together and display the sum result in "virtual site".

Yes,

1 delete the meter from the current place

2 create a new place and add this meter in this new place

3 when there is only one single-phase energy meter in one place, you do not need to select the meter type, it will be "grid" by default.

When you delete the energy meter from the place, each min record for this energy meter will be lost, but the hourly, daily, monthly energy report will not be affected.

Nope... from me.Question - what impact moving a meter from a place to a new place for subsequent combining into a virtual site? Would I have to delete the meter from my original place before adding to the new place, and will it lose historical data in the process?
