Resetting Meter Data

OK, so to clarify a number of topics out there around this issue.

1.  Meter data can't be reset because some idiot might reset it without realising what reset means

2.  I can remove the site and re-add it which will zero out the usage data.

In fact, the only place I can see the data correctly is from the site.  Clicking on either Meters or Overview shows old, incorrect and not required data.

Guys, I think you need to let us take responsibility for our own actions and update the firmware to allow resetting the unit historical data if that's what we want to do.

Cheers,

Paul

Please help us to confirm firstly,

The "Resetting Meter Data"  you mentioned above is reset the kwh data that recorded in the energy meter, Yes?

Hi, yes I'm referring to the ability to reset all meter data including the accumulated kWh.  Because of experimentation in connecting the meter, all information is now inaccurate due to not being able to reset.  In the future I plan to move the CT's to measure another 3 circuits over time which will further confuse the accumulated data.

In the "Overview" table below, imported/exported data is incorrect and rubbish data.

Also, on a side note, why would I be seeing a negative value as shown below.  This CT is on a circuit that does for export power, it is currently measuring a SPA.

Most of the IAMMETER products work with the IAMMETER-cloud.

So we do not provide the function that reset kWh data by end-user.
otherwise, it will affect the IAMMETER-cloud to calculated the kwh/period data.

You can consider this as the odometer of a car.

if your application needs to change your meter to  different place frequently.

I think you had better to develop your own software and add the preset kwh function in  software.

About the negative power.

the active power = voltage * current *pf

the negative power value means the angle between voltage and current is greater than 90 degrees at that time.

Yes that's correct

Hi

I have answered your question in the previous message.

Yes that's correct

OK, your products are basically useless to me then, and you're cutting out a big percentage of people who would like this functionality.

Thanks,

Paul

It is a pity.
But in fact, if you use IAMMETER-cloud, the none zero initial kwh data will not affect anything.
For example,
You can create a sub-user in your account, and let all your customers log in to your account by your sub-account.

When you have complete your service for each customer, what you need to do is change the password of your sub-account and delete the corresponding "place" in your account, then all data will be deleted.

when a new service cycle starts, you can create a new place again.
Although the initial kwh value is not zero, it will not affect any calculation of periodic kwh data or report analysis in IAMMETER.

He/she can also use the total function of IAMMETER-cloud, although the initial data of the meter is not zero.

Hi Paul:
If you still need to reset the kwh data of the 3 phase energy meter, please let me know.
(our email :support # devicebit.com, replace the # with @)
we have provided the Modbus command to reset the data of kwh.
This Modbus protocol had not been released in public , but if you need it,we can send it to you by email(please do not post it on internet either).
You need to use a USB dongle to connect the rs485 interface of the 3 phase energy meter and send the modbus command from computer.
After the command had been received, the energy data of the three phase energy meter will be clear to zero .

Please note: this operation(reset kwh data of the three phase energy monitor) will cause a wrong periodic energy calculation of the IAMMETER-cloud, so please also delete and re-create the three phase energy meter in IAMMETER after you reset the kwh data.

Sorry, we still do not provide an easy way (such as resetting the energy data by the IAMMETER app )to reset the kwh data of the energy meter.
The main reasons are as below.
1 resetting the kwh (to zero)will cause a wrong calculation in IAMMETER-cloud(such as hourly, daily, monthly energy consumption, ).
2 Even you add an energy meter with a no-zero kWh data into IAMMETER, it will not affect anything.

I came here looking for the same answer. I use my system with Home Assistant only. Is there any code entry I could add to Config.yaml as an offset to give a corrected zero reading ???

Hi:

we have open the reset kWh data command now ,please refer to
